Go to the northwest corner of the first section to move the shelf, then check the books at the top of the ladder to to move it back. There is a door to the south but it leads to a dead end in the room with the balconies. Check the books at the top of the ladder to the right of this to get a battle and open up a passage. Enter to find a save point.
Exit to the southeast to finally reach the floor of the room with the balconies. Enter the door on the left to see Mid studying hard. Step forward and books come out of the shelves to attack. The ship is destroyed in a whirlpool, but the party makes it back to the Library of the Ancients via black chocobo. Mid and Cid tell the party they saw King Tycoon in the desert to the west, and provoke a Sandworm attack to allow the group to enter the desert to search for him.
While the party explores Gohn , Cid and Mid fly the black chocobo to its home where they fall into a pitfall, and meet up with the party at the Catapult. The group finds the Fire-Powered Ship unharmed in this ancient underwater deposit, as well as an ancient airship , which Cid activates. When the Ronka Ruins lift off, Cid and Mid instruct the party how to infiltrate the vessel and find the Earth Crystal. They retrofit the airship with Adamantite so it can fly up to the ruins.
Afterward, the two tell the party how to open a portal to Galuf's World using the crashed meteorites. In the Merged World , Mid and Cid continue to help Bartz implement a submarine function to the airship. Krile and Mid show their concern for each other before the party leaves the Catapult. After the Light Warriors save the world, Mid receives a letter from Krile stating how she misses everyone, since they have all moved on. Several years later, Mid sees the demon Ra Devil raid his grandfather's grave.
Watching in horror as the he removes Cid's brain from his body, Ra Devil pierces Mid through the heart and he dies on the spot. Unable to rest, he becomes a ghost, and befriends Prettz and Linaly , the descendant of his friend Bartz. With his help, they defeat Ra Devil, who has transformed into the god of oblivion, Deathgyunos , using the Crystals.
