She has been with NBC 5 since October Meredith is passionate about her work and has earned recognition for her good work. She has also been nominated for five Lone Star Emmy awards.
Her first TV market was cited as being her hometown. She had dreams of moving to a bigger city and pursuing her dreams. Her mentor happened to be an unnamed news anchor based in San Francisco at the time. Her first major assignment was covering a Category 4 hurricane in coastal South Carolina. As everyone else in the state was being evacuated, a small crew and she stayed behind to cover the hurricane.
Back then she was 22 years old, scared, clad in rain gear, and she had relatively little experience. The coverage included live traffic evacuation shots in wall-to-wall coverage. The hurricane would go on to miss her hometown of Charleston, however, it did launch her career in the process. Meredith has been reporting news for NBC in the evening segment for six years.
She has been an anchor in the DFW market for all that while. The original property included a triangular shaped parcel from south of Hillsborough Street to the railroad, and bounded by Elizabeth Street on the east just west of Gorman Street and Method Road on the west.
